About me

About me…

Hello… it’s me!

My name is Alfredo Luis Blanco.

I’m a Spanish teacher of English. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Philology from the UCM (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain) in 1984 and I’ve been teaching English almost all my life.

I’ve taught people of all ages, from children to adults both privately and in some schools.

Although I’ve worked in several institutions, I’ve been teaching English in Secondary at San José del Parque in Madrid since 1986.

I love teaching and I love languages. I love reading and writing too. I like doing new things, that’s why I have experimented co-writing textbooks and writing fiction, a trilogy, some short stories for children, personal dedications, poems -specially Limericks, which I love, and what I have called ‘Personal Books’, just stories by one writer to only one reader both in English and in Spanish.

I like translation as well, and I can say I have translated very different texts: from little pieces of literature to big manuals and articles on very different topics. By the way, I have contributed to developing a Computer Assisted Translation Program.

I have studied a little bit of French and German.

I have also travelled abroad with students as a group leader.

Last, but not least, I like computers and technology. I am not an expert but I enjoy them.

As I also like layout design, I worked on the Department’s magazine layout for thirteen years and I am happy about it. Besides, I have contributed to the design of the Journals of Exchanges with France and England.

Well, that’s all for now!

I hope you like the site!
